Ranch after wildfire

ABOUT RAINFIRE LLC.

Where Innovation Meets Urgency in Wildfire Defense

RainFire LLC, based in San Antonio, Texas, was founded with one clear mission: to transform the way we defend against wildfires, before it’s too late.

The idea behind our patent-pending Wildfire Defense System was born not in a lab, but on the scorched land of a friend’s West Texas ranch. What began as a routine county-organized “controlled burn” quickly spiraled out of control, overwhelming fire crews and consuming 90% of the ranch.

That loss ignited something else, a breakthrough.

Turning Kitchen Ingenuity Into Fire Protection Engineering

A Common Sense Solution to Wildfire Management
Chef Damien Watel cooking in his pizza oven

Our founder is no stranger to high-pressure environments. As a lifelong chef, he’s spent decades making the most of what’s available and finding creative solutions under intense conditions. That same mindset inspired him to reimagine firefighting infrastructure with a fresh perspective.

Why not use what’s already in the ground?

For decades, fire hydrants have remained unchanged, passive tools meant only for manual use during emergencies. Damien envisioned something smarter: a simple, innovative accessory that retrofits hydrants and local water sources into proactive wildfire defense systems.

Sprinkler-equipped and strategically placed, these modified hydrants form a frontline defense, suppressing fires before they ever reach homes, neighborhoods, or natural land.
